Nelson Edward Sleno, BEd, is a retired teacher of thirty-one years. He taught in Qubec and Ontario, spanning multiple subject areas, mostly teaching physical education and working with special needs youth.
Nelson achieved high levels of performance in competitive weightlifting sports, often representing Canada internationally, and has coached young people in many different sports, helping them to achieve excellence in their endeavours.
Nelson lives in Orangeville, Ontario, with his family - his wife Colette, and two sons, Kevin and Daniel, and he volunteers at the local hospital. Nelson has been living with Parkinson's disease for ten years and is profiling his struggle for others to benefit from his approach.
